Travel Soccer

The St. James Football Club continues to be committed to challenging the "traditional" competitive soccer structure and continue with a program structure that is designed to take as much of the "Travel" out of soccer as possible.

This new programming structure will utilize 5 centralized sites across Loudoun & Fairfax County for the Recreational, Pre-Travel and local Travel Soccer (Core Programs). The idea is to create a more predictable training and game environment that will require families to travel significantly less for the same high level programs. These sites will include:

• Ashburn
• Brambleton
• Lovettsville
• Chantilly
• Fairfax/ Springfield

Beginning at U11 our Advanced Competitive Programming will begin and Pre-Academy teams will be created regionally within Loudoun & Fairfax County. Still minimizing travel for our high level programming. At U13 our national level Academy team will be formed from our regional Pre-Academy player pools. These players will play at a centralized location located on the Loudoun/ Fairfax boarder. At U13 the regional Pre-Academy teams will become Academy 2 teams and continue is a similar training format as the full Academy and they will continue to train in their regional locations. Local travel teams will continue to train and play at their specific sites which will continue through U19.

Our developmental pathway provides additional opportunities for advanced players in the club to train and play together throughout the year through supplemental training and tournaments.

This model was trialed in 2023-2024 with some incredible results for our players who achieved success at a number of prestigious tournaments including Capital Fall Classic, Jefferson Cup, Arlington Invitational and FC Delco Cup.
